Sunday, April 08, 2007 Yesterday was my first wedding dress fitting. We had to be there at 10am....to damed early for a Saturday morning if you ask me but I had other plans that day. My matron of honor Kat decided to meet me there with Bri my flower girl. My maid of honor J decided to ditch per her flaky self. I am now start to regret making her my maid of honor. Why you ask, well partly due to her lack of manners with running late, flaking out on almost everything she does for others, and also due to the fact I'm scared she's going to get black out drunk yet again. (She got a dui the other day at 1am and proceeded to call me at 3:45 when the police station decided they would release her. Thank god there was no bail or she'd find herself there still!!!) When my mom and I got there we started looking around and found a couple more dresses I wanted to try on. When Kat and Bri got there we started trying them on. Bri bent over and asked her mom when it was going to be her turn to try on dresses like mine and her mom said not for a while lol! We narrowed it down to the dress I picked out originally and another one that I had seen in bridal mags and fell in love with. I stood there in the dress I originally picked out listening to Kat and my mom try and help me make a decision on the one I actually wanted. Pointing out very important details (like the one I picked out made me look thinner) and I looked at Bri and said which one do you like better. She looked at both of them and then pointed to the one I was wearing. That was it, that was the dress and my 6 year old niece made sure I knew it! (What can I say she's my protege) (sp) After we finished with the dresses we started putting veils on Bri. She loved it all and I can't blame her. I used to go into bridal shops when I was her age and want to try on the dresses....and guess what they always let me. After she tried on the veils we took her over to look at flower girl dresses. She tried on about 6 or 7. The first one she picked out she liked the best but honestly there was one that made her look totally angelic. It also looks like her mom's wedding dress. So when we asked Bri which one she like she picked the first one until her mom said the best thing any mom could say to a girl like Bri. Well this one (the one the 3 of us like) comes with a tiara. That was it she changed her mind!! Smart thinking!! After the dress fitting was a meeting at the Muckenthaler with Du, Gil my coordinator, my mother, M and I. It went well and we got a lot accomplished! We ended up cutting out a couple things with advice from Gil. Thank god it saved up $500 and probably another $1500 or so I'm hoping. Here's a couple pics of Bri from the dress fittings ![]() |
