Monday, July 10, 2006 So this last weekend was a bit difficult and sad. Friday was pretty good! I headed up to M's apartment for his inspection and to turn in his keys. That went as smoothly as could be expected. After that it I took Walrus out to help him laugh and cheer up for a few hours. His dad had been in the hospital and rehab center for a couple weeks. He had been getting worse and worse, and they were doing funeral arrangements. It seemed to work for a while and then it was back home to go to M's baseball game. M put his Civic up to be sold since it was to much to have 2 cars on his insurance. We got lucky and sold it on Saturday after having the add up for less than a week. We called my mom and Walrus to see if they wanted to go out and celebrate birthdays that night. They both said yes, thankfully, and we went to get a cake. While at dinner, on the second course Walrus got the call that his father had just passed away. My mom and him left very quickly and we had everything boxed to go. Even though it happened during dinner, I'm very glad his father passed finally. He was in his 90's and his kidneys were failing fast. He was only on pain medication and anxiety medication. I'm just glad he's in a better place, and out of pain. Walrus is having a hard time, and his brother is a complete waste of space.....somewhat like FM on Maeve's blog.Today was a pretty good day I have to admit. My mom took me to get my nails done for my birthday. I haven't had the $$ to do so at all lately! Talked to a friend that I didn't speak to for 2 almost 3 years due to an accusation she made. I was very thankful to find out that she had grown up QUITE a bit and has been responsible for herself and her actions. She had been a close friend for 16 years when we stopped talking, and I cut ties completely. I can honestly say that I'm glad to have her back as a friend. We (my mom, her and I) met up at the CheeseCake Factory for drinks and snacks around 3:30. We left there and came back home and talked more until about 7:30. There was A LOT to talk about. If things continue to go well I'm hoping to have her as my brides maid, or maid of honor. Not going to put to much pressure on it just yet, who knows where things may go. However being the optimist I am, I'm hopeful! |
