A Scottish Bride

About Myself I'm a newlywed who got married on March 15,2008. I'm currently living at home with my mother, husband, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 5 tortises. We're saving up for our first how which we'll hopefully buy soon. I'd love to start our family, but that like everything comes in it's own time. I recently lost my father, and am dealing with his death the best way I know how. Surrounding myself with the people I love, and enjoying life like he would have wanted me to.

Where do I begin.....

Well moving day is quickly approaching and you can tell that it's trying M's nerves. Not in a bad way so to speak, but he's obviously stressed. He talked a bit about it last night, it's the combination of moving, his parents leaving, the wedding (which is 2 years minimum away), his raise, and the possibility of me being pregnant, etc. I can't blame him at at all for being stressed, I'm feeling it a bit as well. His brother is coming over on Sunday to help with the move...eeeeek!! This means I have to get the house spottless. Now I know they're both going to be so damned busy they won't notice, however to apease my mother, but mostly myself I'll get it all cleaned if it kills me. I have seriously been procrastinating about it though. Leave it to me to wait to the very last minute to get it done! At least the majorty is done and it will take me only a couple of hours to do it once I get my ass in gear.

Now back to me being pregnant..don't freak out I'm not, as far as we know! It's a possibility but not a probability. I took 6 tests, 1 was positive, 5 were negetive! M and I both flipped because it's not something either of us want right now. To be honest it's not something that I'm sure my body can support. We talked about the possibility of it and what our decision was....ultimatly as sad as it makes me I would most likely have an abortion....The reasons as to why are various, but the biggest ones are finances, where we are in our relationship, where I am in school, and the ammount of alcohol I've consmed lately!! My mother outright protested this, which btw was a MAJOR shock to me! All in all it's my choice, or at least that's what M has said. I personally am just torn. One part of me wants nothing more than to be a mother and experiance all the emotions good and bad that come along with it. However the other part of me wants to get 90% of the way through school before I get pregnant. Not only that but I want M's and my relationship to be as solid as possible (which I'm not so sure is possible no matter what relationship it is) before we decide to start trying to get pregnant. I'm going in next week to have a depo shot, where they'll test me, and more than likely M will go out and buy another test. The reality of your choices sucks sometimes you know that!!!

Back to wedding talk...We've decided not to have it at the Montage. Why you ask, because the cost to have it there, catering, venue cost, and everything else is just outrageously over priced. I'm talking $250+ a person on food only. Now I absolutly love everyone I will be enviting, but honestly I can't afford that. I am searching venues and we're looking at quite a few places. We have a meeting at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach this Saturday. We're also looking at the Cliffs in Laguna Beach...can I just say that property is gorgeous and actually decently priced. From there we're looking at quite a few other places. I don't know if the Griffith Observetory holds weddings. M has never been there and I love that place.....They're closed to the public for major renevations currently so we'll have to wait a while longer. They'll be open by the beginning of next year so we'll see about it. Maybe by then we'll have found what we want. I'm so glad that we're waiting as long as we are....it really gives us time to plan and save for what we want.
