Tuesday, June 13, 2006 Well M's parents are gone and it hasn't hit him yet. We went up to his apartment this weekend to make sure they recieved his notice about moving. There was a bit of an argument because in the letter he stated that he would be out of the apartment on the 20th of July (that's when his lease is up). However they said no you need to be out on the 7th of July because that's 30 days after we recieved the notice. Then they talked about the pro-rated rent, and how their company doesn't prorate rent at all. You have to pay the full months rent no matter how long you're there. The reason is because if you say you'll be out on a certain day but don't leave for a couple more weeks it protects them, and keeps them from taking people to court. However M was told otherwise by another employee. He was told that you take what you normally pay for rent and divide it by 30 and that is the ammount for each day. Then you pay for as many days as you're there. When he told the girl this she yet again disagreed with him, and he said fine, I'll talk to your supervisor about it. At that moment it seemed as if her story changed. She after a few more moments of arguing she said that you pay for the full months rent and when you're out of the apartment and turn in your keys they will give you back the money for the days that you're not in the apartment as well as your deposit. Funny how that whold thing changed once he said he'd call and talk to her supervisor huh!! He should be completely moved out of the apartment by the end of the month. That leaves us 7 days to clean the apartment, fill in any holes with spakle, and making sure the damned place is spottless. I may take paint swatches in there to make sure that we match the walls perfectly if there is any touch-ups we have to do.As far as the wedding goes.... We have basically settled on a month...March of 2008. It will most likely be the weekend of the 8th, 15th, or 22nd. It will all depend on venues and costs. Right now we have appointments to go talk $$ at the Montage and Hyatt Huntington Beach. I've looked at both sample menus and like them both. The biggest thing will be the cost of location. It will be a bit easier since we'll have the reception and ceremony in the same place. We're looking at a guest list of 80 people max. This allows me to invite everyone close to me (there aren't that many to be honest) and all his close close friends and family. I am really hoping that we don't have to use the catering service at either hotel because if it's possible I'd love to use my friend to cater my wedding. He owns my favorite resturant and everyone agrees he'll be a bit heart broken if I don't use him for something lol!! If I can't it will deffiently be the rehersal dinner that's for sure. It's early but I have my wedding band picked out, just not purchased, and we're looking at bands for him. Due to lack of funds in the house thanks to me quitting my job I'm looking at working for the Norwalk School District again. I don't really like the district but it's part time, temporary work and I can easily pull in some $$ and take time off when I need to . Being that I have 60-70 lbs to loose between now and October I need all the gym time I can get. Not to mention I have school starting up again in August. The sooner I get my sign language certification the sooner I can earn the $$ I want and save up even more for the wedding I want lol!!! |
